5 Ways To Green Your Brushing Routine

– Wednesday, April 09, 2014 –

April is Earth Month and are always excited to celebrate! Here are 5 tips to save water and keep your pearly whites while staying green:

1.Turn The Water Off: Instead of letting the faucet run while you brush, turn the water off for most of the time and only use it when you need it

2.Floss: Nothing beats good old-fashioned flossing for getting food and plaque stuck between your teeth - and it requires no water (unlike water flossers such as Waterpik or Air Floss)

3.Use Waterless Hand Sanitizer: If your hands are not visibly dirty, hand sanitizer is great for killing germs transferred from your mouth to your hands

4.Don't Rinse: After you brush, spit the extra toothpaste out but do not rinse with water - it will save water and keep the fluoride from toothpaste in your mouth

5.Feed Your Plants: If you do rinse, don't waste the extra water in the cup - use it to water your plants instead!
