Peanut Butter Kisses

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Makes four dozen

What you'll need:

  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • Hershey's chocolate Kisses (about 50)

Instructions:

In a large bowl, combine peanut butter, shortening and brown sugar, using an electric mixer. Add eggs, salt and vanilla and beat until creamy. In a small bowl,  stir the baking soda into the warm water. Add the water mixture to the peanut butter mixture alternately with the flour until well blended.

Drop by tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets. Bake for 11 minutes. While the cookies are baking, unwrap the the Kisses. As soon as the cookies come out of the oven top each with a Kiss.
